Reinventing the "model apartment"
This is a high-end residential building in New York’s NoHo district, with interiors by renowned designer Ryan Korban.
Korban describes the building’s Sales Gallery as a reinvention of what this space typology normally offers, exhibiting the feeling of glam that the project embodies without showing a full apartment model. It has instead a replica of what will be the lobby and a small living space that shows materials and finishes.
I managed this project from DD through bidding, procurement and construction. In the Sales Gallery, we developed intricate details for the kitchen and restroom millwork to soften the light and create an effect of clarity that complemented Ryan Korban’s material palette. We also used theatrical techniques, with gels and filters, to bring to life a backlit mural that features the New York skyline outside the living space windows.
An Unconventional Unveiling
The Sales Gallery has been featured in multiple publications, most prominently in Architectural Digest, which called its unveiling —as backdrop to fashion designer Brandon Maxwell’s spring/summer 2018 ad campaign— "unconventional". You can see the video below, in which our lighting design is featured prominently.
